Challenge: Employment Legislation
As an international airline setting up for the first time in the UK, Blue Air had a limited understanding of UK employment legislation and practice and their HR support for the UK business would operate from Romania. Our existing client, Liverpool John Lennon Airport, recommended Vista to Blue Air and we were pleased to be selected as the employment partner to get Blue Air off the ground.
To kick start our new partnership, Vista created an overview of UK employment legislation and presented this to the HR Director at Blue Air to establish an understanding of the structure of UK legislation and its impacts upon employment practice. Vista also provided recommendations for sourcing providers of other employment services such as payroll and pensions. We then developed a suite of contracts and policies appropriate to Blue Air’s operations and culture in partnership with Blue Air. Not one to shy away from a challenge, Vista got to grips with the complex aviation regulation requirements which applied to Blue Air and its employees. This ensured that Blue Air had covered all bases for a successful set up of their UK operation.
Following the initial set up, Vista has continued to work in partnership with Blue Air, providing day to day case management, HR and employment law advice and support on a range of employment issues and challenges. We work closely with them, through the employment perspectives and commercial considerations, in a UK setting, to come to practical solutions.
Through our practical approach to people management, Vista were able to ensure Blue Air were legally compliant from the start, whilst supporting them in understanding the UK employment landscape.
