Workplace Mediation

Workplace mediation is a confidential process whereby a neutral third party intervenes in a workplace conflict or dispute, in order to assist the parties in reaching a satisfactory outcome.

Despite best intentions, workplace relationships can become difficult or break down, leading to conflict or litigation when informal discussions haven’t reached a solution.

Although mediation cannot be used to deal with matters that need to be formally investigated, it can be used to help to repair relationships that may have become strained as a result of a formal process.

Workplace mediation can often help to avoid formal grievances and employment tribunal claims as well as freeing up management time spent managing conflict instead of focusing on managing the business.

Vista provide an impartial and cost effective mediation service where a trained mediator will help those involved to resolve conflict in a confidential and structured way.

Mediation seeks to improve and preserve workplace relationships to lead to a more positive and productive working environment.

Workplace mediation can take place remotely or face to face, and the main meetings are usually completed within a day.  Where there are more than two parties the process will take longer.

How Vista Workplace Mediation Works...

Confidentiality

The confidential process means that the mediator cannot share any information that is said in the mediation with anyone else, including the employer. This can help to ensure that employees feel comfortable speaking openly and honestly about their concerns.

Voluntary Process

Both parties must agree to participate in mediation before it can take place. This ensures that both parties are committed to resolving the conflict and are willing to work together to find a solution.

Structured Process

The mediator will guide the parties through a series of steps that will help them to identify the issues in dispute, explore their options, and work towards a mutually agreeable solution.
